Apple Macintosh Consulting

Consulting Overview - You have questions, we have answers.
Many people are looking for guidance from someone who has been there before. Maybe you don't have a lot of time to spend figuring out how your computer works instead of getting your project completed. Maybe you would like to learn as you go. Either way, we are flexible enough to meet your needs.

Not sure about something? You're probably not the first to have that question. Experience is a great teacher, especially if you can tap into someone else's!

Configurations
Need a new computer? We can help. Sure we sell them, we have connections to three major wholesalers all key players in this industry, but does that make sense for you? You see the internet and mail order have changed the rules of the game.

There is also a lot to be said for buying locally. We have seen mixed reactions and find many customers get varied results. Especially after the sale.

Here is where we come in. What if we acted on your behalf and helped you shop? We listen to you, find out what your needs are, make up a shopping list (we call it a "configuration," and then we hunt for the best price for you. Now does that make sense?

Installations - Do you feel comfortable when it comes to working
under the hood of your Mac? We can help. Need a hand getting your system up and running? Give AOI a call. We'll come to your location (upstate NY, Monroe County and surrounding area).

We install:

  • Internet Access Software
  • RAM (memory)
  • Hard Drives (storage)
  • Scanners
  • Printers
  • Software
  • Complete Systems

Training - We believe in empowering our customers.
Our approach to training is a bit different than most. Usually people pay a training company for a class, held at the trainer's location, to learn how to use the features of a specific application (program) or group of applications.

We have found our customers prefer our approach. First, we come to you and work on your systems. No more going to the training class and then going back to your computer only to find what you learned doesn't work on your computer. Second, we rarely teach a specific application. Say what? Yes, you read that correctly. We don't teach applications. We teach "Practical Computing!"

What is "Practical Computing?" That's where you have a project or task you need to accomplish and we teach you the most effective way to do it. Not only do you learn by doing, you accomplish the project in the process. With AOI working by your side, you learn the process and are more likely to remember how to do it again six months later when you have to do another similar project?

With traditional training you are taught what all the features are, and which ones to use for specific purposes and how they work. The question for you is will you be able to accomplish what you want in the months that follow after the training. That's why "Practical Computing" works.

We teach skills you can remember, regardless of the tools used to accomplish the task. Our goal is to teach ourselves out of a job. If you know we care about your success, and you really learn and master skills, we know that develops trust and that you will call AOI when you need us again.

Troubleshooting
One of the most frustrating things that can happen is not having something work when you expect it to. Why does it always seem to happen when you have some hugh project due?

There is never a good time to have problems with a computer. When you don't have time to waste, call AOI. Not only will we take care of the problem with your Mac, we want to share things you can do on your own that will help keep costs to a minimum. We believe in empowering our customers. Our philosophy is to share what we know and teach ourselves out of a job. This approach builds trust, and when you really do need us...

You'll give us a call!
